Note that we now have separate shop time dedicated for youth and also shop time dedicated to folks who are 18+. Women and Trans Night is still an option for folks who identify as women or trans. There is also shop time just for volunteering so we can focus all of our attention on volunteering together, with less distraction from personal projects. Volunteer Orientation will be offered every day we’re open. Please come in when we open so we can run orientation for more people at once near the beginning.

NEW HOURS:

Youth Open Shop (Ages 10-16)*
Tuesdays from 3:30pm-6:30pm

Adult Open Shop (17+)*
Thursdays from 6pm-9pm

Women and Trans Night*
Fridays from 3pm-7pm

All Ages Volunteer Shop*
(Working on personal projects is not allowed.)
Saturdays from 11am-2:30pm

All Ages Open Shop

*If you’re coming to volunteer for the first time, please come in when we open for a short orientation.

Can we have your unwanted paint & painting supplies?

Worcester Earn-a-Bike would very much love to acquire any paint and painting supplies that you no longer need! We’re going to be painting our new shop space in the next week or so and it would be THE BEST if we didn’t have to spend a bunch of $$$ on paint/primer/brushes/rollers. We’d rather spend money on things like new tools for y’all to use! Email steph@worcesterearnabike.org if you’re able to make a donation or if you’d like to help us paint! Thanks!

We’re finally moving! Shop closed after Dec. 14.

It’s true! In the next couple of weeks, we’ll start the process of moving back to our Stone Soup home at 4 King Street! Because of the holiday season and to prepare for the move, Worcester Earn-a-Bike will be taking a work-cation starting after our shop hours on Saturday, December 14th. We hope to reopen in February. Hurry in to do those repairs to your winter ride that perhaps you’ve been putting off. There’s not much time left! Be sure to keep checking the website for volunteer opportunities related to the move! Though our facebook page is usually a little bit better for updates.

Thanks for another great year at Worcester Earn-a-Bike! We can’t wait to get our hands dirty with you in our newly renovated home in 2014!

UPCOMING WAREHOUSE WORKDAYS!

Worcester Earn-a-Bike is moving out of our current warehouse space and we need your help to make it happen!

DATES:
Sunday, October 6th, 11:00am-5:30pm
Wednesday, October 9th, 12:00pm-6:00pm

Tasks will include lots of sorting through bikes and salvaging nice things. Maybe you’ll find the bike of your dreams whilst moving some ancient frames around! How convenient that you’ll also be earning hours to make that glorious two wheeled machine yours! No experience with bicycle mechanics is needed.

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty!

We’ll provide the pizza!

Meet at the shop at 34 Cambridge Street at the workday start times so we can mosey on over to the warehouse together. If you can’t make it on time, please email Matt@worcesterearnabike.org to make other arrangements. Matt can also answer any questions you may have.

There’s a Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/684676201544510/ Please invite your friends!

Thanks for all your support!

Women and Trans Night=Friday 6:30pm-8:30pm

The hours of Women and Trans Night at Earn-a-Bike are now 6:30pm-8:30pm. Tell your friends!

Woman and Trans Night:

Women and Trans Night operates just like our other shop hours, but it is a space reserved solely for non-male identifying folks. We welcome people with all levels of experience with bicycle mechanics and encourage those who have knowledge to share what they know. We strive to make Women and Trans night as safe a space as possible for learning, socializing, and empowering ourselves and each other.

We hope to see you for part or ALL!! of the conference! Oh and if you can host any out of town folks, that’s awesome! Please contact Amanda at Amanda@kiddschall.com. Thanks!
